During a time when many couples are sacrificing their elopement or wedding plans during the pandemic, we wanted to celebrate a detailed and intentional vow renewal elopement.

The mission was to create a beautiful shoot inspired by the handcrafted details, conscious consumption, dinner parties, and flair of the 70s. The motivation was to remind their community that these focused details represent a shift in the way couples are thinking about their marriage celebrations.

The sun filtered through the evergreens. The birds were hidden at the tops, but we could hear their songs floating above us throughout the air.

When you think of a desert wedding, normally you think of boho, cacti, and macrame. We wanted to create a more sophisticated desert elopement. In Eastern Washington, we frequently forget that the tall grasses and craggy formations seamlessly shift into sand and sagebrush — less like Southern California and more like the Columbia River.

Red and black may not be the first colors you think of when you think “marriage”, but this palette was perfect for the glamorous and gritty styled shoot out in the Cascades.

The heart of this shoot was inspired by the big scenic views on Mt. Rainier. What does an epic, adventure-loving couple do on the day of their elopement? What do they bring? Where do they go to say their vows?
